CVS passport photos: price and what’s included
Short answer. CVS’s own passport photo page lists two 2×2″ prints for $17.99. An emailed digital copy costs $3.99 more and is offered “in select locations”. The service is available in select CVS Pharmacy locations and no appointment is needed.

What the U.S. passport photo has to meet
These come from the U.S. Department of State, not from CVS:
- 1 color photo, taken in the last 6 months
- Printed size 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm); head 1 to 1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm) from chin to top of head
- Plain white or off-white background, no shadows, textures or objects
- Printed on matte or glossy photo-quality paper. Photocopies and scanned photos are not accepted, and a photo printed on the wrong paper is a rejection reason
- For online renewal, you upload a digital photo instead of mailing a print
Do you have to go to a store?
No rule says the photo must be taken at a pharmacy. The State Department lists “a friend or family member” among the people who can take your passport photo.
