What the U.S. passport photo has to meet
- 1 color photo, taken in the last 6 months
- 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm); head 1 to 1 3/8 inches (25–35 mm)
- Plain white or off-white background without shadows
- Printed on matte or glossy photo-quality paper — no photocopies or scanned photos
- Online renewal uses an uploaded digital photo
