A correctly sized file may still be rejected.
Background, cropping, head position, lighting, expression, eyes, and other photo requirements matter too. Use PhotoSpec to take your photo with guided framing and built-in checks for your selected document.

What this tool changes — and what it does not
It changes the pixel dimensions and the file size, and it re-saves the photo. If the shape of your photo does not match the published shape it takes a rectangular crop, which you move and zoom yourself. It does not find your face, and it never stretches or squashes the picture to force a shape.
It does not retouch the photo, change the background, or alter the person in it. It cannot make a small photo sharper: enlarging adds pixels, not detail. And it does not determine whether an authority will accept the result. For rules beyond the file itself, open the document's own page.
A photo carried here from the file checker is handed over inside your own browser’s storage and deleted the moment this page reads it. It is never uploaded.
