• Glasses are not allowed.
• Neutral expression, mouth closed.
• Printed photo size can differ by application route and Indian mission (e.g. Tatkal reissue in the US and applications in Canada ask for 2 × 2 in / 51 × 51 mm). Check the latest instructions from the mission where you apply.

• Indian Embassy, Berne: passport and visa applications require an ICAO-compliant photo upload during the online application.
